Kids Program

1

Introductory 1

A class for children who are learning Hangul for the first time.

Brand-new learners will learn the basic Korean vowels and consonants through fun, activity-based lessons.

This class is designed for kindergarten-age children to build a friendly first experience with Hangul, recognizing and reading simple basic letters with confidence.

Introductory 2

A class for learners who are ready to practice double consonants, final consonants, and compound vowels.

Students will learn words that contain double consonants, final consonants, and compound vowels while strengthening their reading skills.

The goal is to help children enjoy the different sounds of Korean consonants and vowels and become familiar with a wider range of everyday vocabulary.

Korean 1

A class for learners who will read basic words, more challenging words, and full sentences in Korean.

Students will build vocabulary, learn more complex words, and begin reading simple sentences with understanding.

Aimed at children who already know basic Hangul, this level focuses on reading short sentences made from familiar words so that students become more comfortable and fluent in everyday Korean reading.

Youth Program

Korean 2

A class for reading and understanding conversations, diaries, travel writings, explanations, and stories on various topics, and for practicing speaking, reading, and writing to express one’s own thoughts and facts.

Students will read conversations, diaries, travelogues, explanatory texts, and fairy tales on a range of topics, understand the content, and then write and speak to share their own ideas and experiences.

This level focuses on everyday communication at school and at home. Using the vocabulary and grammar they have learned, students will complete a variety of tasks and project-based activities to build confidence in real-life communication.

Korean 3

A class for reading various genres—dialogues, observation diaries, play scripts, travel texts, and explanatory texts—and understanding character actions in stories while practicing realistic expression.

Students will learn different types of reading passages, such as dialogues, observation journals, drama scripts, travel writings, and informational texts. They will develop the ability to understand characters’ actions in stories and express them clearly and realistically.

This level strengthens students’ ability to understand a wide range of Korean texts. Through diverse reading activities, learners will expand vocabulary, improve sentence expression, and build confidence in using Korean in practical and meaningful ways.

Korean 4

A class for learning prose and dialogue containing key vocabulary, grammar, and expressions, while also studying Sino-Korean characters and Korean history.

Students will learn advanced vocabulary, grammar patterns, and expressions through prose and conversational texts. They will also study Chinese-origin characters and explore important topics in Korean history.

The goal of this level is to strengthen students’ ability to read and understand various topics, and to express opinions clearly through writing, summaries, reflections, and discussions. Learners will also expand cultural understanding through Korean idioms, Chinese-origin vocabulary, and historical concepts.

Korean 5

A class for learning family terms, poetry writing, presentations about daily economics and global warming, movie reviews, national holiday presentations, discussions, Chinese characters, Korean culture, and history.

Students will learn names for family and relatives, write short poems, and give presentations on topics such as everyday economic life and global warming. They will also write movie reviews, prepare presentations about Korean national holidays, participate in discussions, and study Chinese characters, Korean culture, and history.

The goal of this level is to expand students’ advanced vocabulary and sentence patterns so they can use Korean more freely and fluently. Through reading and discussing topics related to Korean culture, history, and current social issues, students will develop the ability to express their own ideas in longer, well-organized Korean.
